Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American performer and actress. Parents were Tom Bell and Lorelei Frygier and both are television news directors. She was raised and birthed in Huntington Woods Michigan. Her parents are of Polish descent (mother) as well as German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen was already an accomplished performer from a young age. She was just 12 when she attended her first audition, and was able to win an appearance in Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell had an agent appointed by her mother before the age of 13 and was cast as a model on newspapers and television commercials. Bell also began taking acting lessons in private at that time. Bell was on the screen in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998 as an uncredited actor. Bell took part in the drama and music club at Shrine Catholic High School. The Wizard of Oz production at her highschool won Bell the role of the lead Dorothy character. Following graduation, Bell relocated in New York City to attend prestigious Tisch School of the Arts and studied musical theater. In 2001, Bell quit her university in order to play the role as Becky in Tom Sawyer. It was also in 2001 that Bell made her first appearance in a movie that had been credited, Pootie Tang (2002). Unfortunately her scene is cut off and only the credits depict her. Bell was in the film with Angela Bettis, Liam Neeson, and the Broadway show The Crucible in 2002.
