Anamaria Marinca bio
Anamaria Marinca is a Romanian born actress. Her screen debut came with the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic in which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. She can fluently speak French, German English, and Romanian. Her father, who is a professor of theater at one of Romania's most prestigious theater schools, also a theatre teacher. Awarded an award for the Best Female Actor Award in 2000 at the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors. In 2008 she was named an 'Eastern Shooting Star' European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. She also was awarded numerous honors for her work in the film 4 Months 3 Weeks 2 Days a Romanian Art Film. In 2007, she starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 weeks si 2 zile (4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 days) by Cristian Mungiu. It was awarded the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other prizes (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). She also appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth. In 2008, Marinca portrayed Yasim in the BBC's five episode The Last Enemy. Marinca had roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as also in the Romanian drama Boogie. Later she as Irma's German Aunt in Fury the film, which came out in the year 2014.
