Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American actor and musician who began her career with clever raps that tackled gender and ethnic identities from a the most comical of perspectives. She then expanded into Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical path as a trumpeter. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants as well as Korean immigrants. Apart from classical music and jazz, Nora Lum started to study hip-hop during her teens. When she was in the college years, she remained focused on her studies, and then took up a degree in women's studies and journalism. For a brief period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. However, it wasn't until she graduated that she shifted her focus on music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet before settling on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. It also included other viral hits like the body-positive Queef as well as the cheeky hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in the year 2015, and was an additional initiative. After a successful career as a performer She decided to take on the character of actress. In addition to early television shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she's also appeared in movies including Neighbors2Storks and Bad Rap. Her breakthrough came in the year 2018 when she appeared in a number of high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her new EP "In Fina We Trust".
